Chapter 01: Van Wyk Residence
Strong project outcomes rely on experienced people working well together. Our team approaches each stage with care, consistency and respect for the wider build.
Good bricklayers make detailed work look straightforward. We’re fortunate to have a team who understand the standard expected on architectural homes and take real care in how every section comes together.
We work alongside boutique builders and architects to deliver architectural brickwork on some truly beautiful homes. This modern project is a great example of the work our team specialises in.
Some of the people behind Red Rock Brickworks. A hardworking and reliable team who care about the work they deliver and the reputation we’ve built together. We’re grateful for every person who contributes to the business.
A look behind the build, where each course of brickwork contributes to the architectural character of the project.
Red Rock is the team builders call when the masonry package requires more than the standard approach.
For Ryan and the Red Rock team, the masonry is about creating a finish that feels premium from every angle from the consistency of the brickwork to the way each detail contributes to the overall character of the project 🧱
The projects we’re drawn to are rarely the straightforward ones.

Our experienced team is an important part of the quality we deliver at Red Rock Brickworks.
At Red Rock Brickworks, our focus is on working alongside architects and boutique builders to deliver high-end architectural masonry across Perth.
From the ground, you see the detail. From above, you see the scale.
Good brickwork comes down to the people behind it.
The best architectural brickwork doesn’t compete with the design. It complements it.
Fresh winter mornings. Views that never get old. ☀️
Not every wall is built in a straight line 🧱
The beginning of something special. 👊
Brickwork that rewards a second look 💫
As Red Rock Brickworks celebrates ten years in business 🎉we’re looking back at six homes that helped shape our journey. The Van Wyk Residence was one of the first and marked our first major opportunity in the boutique architectural market.
The double brick package brought together rustic tumbled brick and Boral Blues with black oxide mortar. Pale brickwork across the façade gives way to deeper tones in the courtyard, with details including raking gables, hanging brickwork and brickwork around the floating stairs and large radius window.
It was a challenging home to work on, and the confidence gained from completing it helped open the door to the next architectural project.
This is where our anniversary series begins ✨

We’re now onto the next stage of this Peppermint Grove project, with our team laying Krause Emperor bricks and carefully cleaning each brick as it’s laid to achieve the desired finish.
The hit and miss brickwork is becoming a defining feature of this home, demonstrating how considered brickwork can elevate architectural design.
Some of the best mornings are spent on site.

This incredible home in Gooseberry Hill is shaped around a sweeping crescent, meaning every course of brickwork has to follow the radius with precision from start to finish.
Working alongside @assemblebuildingco and @brunsdon.studio, the perimeter walls were built perfectly to level while maintaining a consistent radius using a custom made template sourced by @nathbusio It’s one of those projects where accuracy at the beginning sets up every trade that follows.
Built entirely with Maxi bricks, our focus is on keeping every wall as plumb and true as possible, ensuring the structure is ready for the next stage of construction.
The crisp winter mornings have definitely made for some cold starts, but it’s hard to complain when you’re working in a location like Gooseberry Hill. 🌿
This is just the beginning of what will be a very special build, and we’re looking forward to sharing the progress as the crescent continues to take shape.

Not every stage of a project is glamorous—but every stage matters.
Where it all begins: reinforced cavity-filled basement blockwork that forms the backbone of the entire build. Once complete, we’ll move onto the boundary walls before progressing through the upper floors.
The feature brickwork is still to come, with White Chillingham bricks and white mud set to completely transform the look of this home.
Stay with us as this project evolves from the ground up—it’s going to be one worth watching.

Using the Austral Daniel Robertson Range, paired with black mortar and a struck joint finish, the result is a rich, textured facade that changes with every angle and every shift in light.
A project like this is all about the finer details—from clean lines and consistent jointing through to the feature saw-tooth brickwork sample panel developed for the future swimming pool area.
It’s these details that transform brickwork from a building material into an architectural feature.
